Mr. President,
It is an honor for me, on behalf of the Global Peace Mission, to extend my congratulations to Your Excellency on your re-election as President for a second term, reaffirming the French people’s confidence in your wise and prudent leadership. Your endeavors to unify European nations to be free and independent in their decisions, crafting a future that ensures security, stability, and the aspirations of their peoples for progress and prosperity, are commendable. Your efforts contribute to the collective interests of European countries in leading the free world towards peace and understanding among the civilized peoples through constructive and balanced dialogue that benefits all, upholds human rights, and preserves human civilization.
During your first term, some of your statements concerning Islam, labeling it as a racist religion that supports terrorism, and your assertion of the existence of two forms of Islam, one moderate and the other isolated, were surprising. These statements reflect a misunderstanding of the message of Islam, which calls for mercy, justice, freedom, and peace, prohibits the killing of innocents, and emphasizes respect for human life, work, and dignified living. The Holy Quran affirms this, stating, “O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female, and made you peoples and tribes so that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you” (Quran 49:13). It further states, “O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed, Allah is ever, over you, an Observer” (Quran 4:1). These verses address all of humanity, emphasizing the unity of creation and that no one has superiority over another except by piety and good deeds.
Islam does not divide into two forms, nor did God send two prophets to preach Islam. He sent one prophet, Muhammad (peace be upon him), who carried the Quran, the message of God to all of humanity.
Mr. President, the fundamental principles of Islam are reflected in God’s message to all people. Islam is a divine legislation for humanity that guides them on the safe path in life, controls their actions, and sets limits for their goals, ensuring that the end does not justify the means. This prevents ambitious souls from crossing all red lines that threaten the security of human society everywhere. Islam calls on everyone to achieve security, stability, and cooperation in everything that ensures a dignified life, stability, and peace in a free life marked by solidarity and consultation to build advanced societies in all fields of life.
The Quran emphasizes the unity of the divine message, stating that all revelations sent by God to the prophets, from Noah to the last prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), must be believed by all. It states, “Say, ‘We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the descendants, and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him'” (Quran 2:136).
God also establishes the principles of human freedom in choosing their faith, as stated in the Quran, “And say, ‘The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills—let him believe; and whoever wills—let him disbelieve'” (Quran 18:29).
Moreover, God clarifies to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that his responsibility is to convey the message of Islam with wisdom and good instruction, without forcing anyone, as the Quran states, “Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided” (Quran 16:125).
The Prophet’s mission was to deliver God’s message to all people, allowing them the freedom to accept or reject it. God alone holds the right to judge people for their choices on the Day of Judgment, as He declares in the Quran, “Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans—those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness—will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve” (Quran 2:62).
The Quran provides clear guidance on how to live a good life, to act righteously for the day of reckoning, and to treat others with kindness, warning against corruption on Earth, as stated, “But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters” (Quran 28:77).
I wish your call for intellectuals and thinkers in your country, which has long championed the cause of freedom and human rights since the 18th century, could seek the truth of Islam’s message through the Quran, the ultimate reference for Islamic teachings. This could help correct the distorted image created by the malevolent ideas of the enemies of life and freedom, rather than relying on the biased interpretations of some Orientalists who misunderstood the true message of Islam.
It is unfortunate that some Muslims have engaged in criminal acts that have tarnished the image of Islam, spreading revulsion and concern among people. These individuals, exploited by certain international intelligence agencies, have been indoctrinated with fabricated stories and myths falsely attributed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), resulting in an unjust and deliberate distortion of Islam’s message of mercy, justice, freedom, and peace.
Therefore, I am pleased to present you with a book titled “The Message of Islam,” which aims to correct these misconceptions and deliberate distortions, promoting understanding and cooperation among all nations.
Sincerely,
[Ali Mohammad Al-Shorafaa Al-Hammadi]
